In 2018 Melissa came to Sheridan for lip filler treatment to rebalance the asymmetry in her lips. She was delighted with the results.
Following her move away from London in 2020, Melissa sought treatment from another practitioner offering a cheap online deal in her local area. Unfortunately neither the practitioner nor the products used were of a high standard and Melissa subsequently developed an infection in her lips which required emergency treatment at A&E.
After a two week course of antibiotics, Melissa’s lips finally healed though they were left misshapen and Melissa’s confidence was seriously affected.
Melissa was nervous to consider further treatment after her experience when she re-approached Sheridan for further treatment in March 2022. After an in-depth consultation and new lip filler treatment, Melissa feels passionately about sharing her story to advise others of the potential risks that can arise from online deals and inexperienced practitioners.
Due to the complications that Melissa encountered with the previous practitioner it was important to thoroughly assess her lips to ensure that the tissue was completely healed and healthy with no scar tissue present before deciding to carry out any further treatment.
I felt honoured that Melissa had enough confidence in my work to revisit a new lip treatment at my practise. Melissa was concerned about her natural asymmetry which we previously addressed in 2018. She requested the same treatment again.
Using 0.5ml of Juvederm Smile, we carefully injected the top and bottom lip to balance out her asymmetry.
Melissa has naturally full lips and so Juvederm Smile was a good option for this patient as it provides soft, bouncy volume with natural results.
