Different people will have differing motivations when it comes to lip fillers. For some, concerns surrounding lack of volume and the shape of the lips including the cupids bow and borders can be addressed and treated with the injection of lip fillers. For others concerned with signs of ageing, the volume and shape of the lips can be enhanced, alongside the treatment of fine lines and wrinkle in the lip and surrounding mouth area.
Lip Fillers are temporary and can last from anywhere between 6-15 months dependent on the total amount of the product that has been injected, the brand of the product that has been used and each individual patients’ unique metabolism which will inevitably determine how long the product remains in the body.
There is very little downtime associated with lip fillers, though swelling is usually at its worst the day after treatment, this should decrease over the course of the day. Some patients may find a little bruising post-treatment, though this will typically last between 5-7 days. Make-up can be applied to cover any bruising from one day post procedure, and the use of anti-histamines and arnica is recommended pre-treatment in order to treat any swelling or bruising that may occur after the procedure.
